CAST THY BREAD (LIFE)

Bread is a fascinating thing. Culturally diverse and universal, bread can be found in nearly all civilizations of the world and is inseparably linked with the essence of life.

It is through this understanding that The Escape Project was conceived.  The above scriptural reference from the King James Version could read as follows: "Cast thy bread [and thus thy life] upon the waters: for thou shalt find it after many days."  You can see by the accompanying photography that an open hand of sincerity, founded upon peaceful intentions, can yield unusually good results from the most apprehensive of wild creatures.

People, likewise, seem to respond in a like-kind manner when they are hungry or thirsty for something.  A foreign policy that does not allow free moral agency or an act of the person's will yet remains foreign.  Likewise, the adoption of a needy child or a newly-introduced method of purifying water for a village, if not given the respect or option of the people to nullify or prohibit the change, can quickly become offensive, criminal or invasive.

The Escape Project respects an individual's right to make conscious choices of the heart and mind--choices about their lives. It is when we are queried for our counsel and assistance that we are given the honour and opportunity to help others sustain themselves with daily bread.
